Outward-looking class or validation of students’ extracurricular activity involvement

Presentation

Outward-looking classes are delivered by university lecturers from all over the world. They address specific topics, thus helping you to broaden your horizons, by allowing you to somewhat step outside the scope of the program, and to choose a topic that interests you. These classes can be conducted in French, but also in English, or in Spanish. Each year a list of several classes is distributed to third-year students so that they can make their selection at the beginning of the year and indicate the outward-looking course for which they wish to be assessed.

Instead of attending the outward-looking class, the student can apply for his/her involvement in associative, professional or volunteering (or equivalent) activities to be validated for academic credits.

Form of assessment

For the outward-looking course, assessment might be made through a written examination, or be conducted on a continuous basis, depending on the lecturer, and according to an assessment schedule set out by the latter. No class can be made up.

Assessment for validation of students’ extracurricular activity involvement will be done through a written report and under the conditions defined in the provisions of the charter relating to the recognition of the student’s involvement.
